Yesterday saw the first clip of the Steve Jobs coming biopic, starring Ashton Kutcher as jobs and Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak. The full film will be premiering at Sundance later today Film Festival and is set for a wider theatrical release in April.

But on the clip, where we see a passionate job - played rather cleverly by Kutcher - having a discussion with Woz. I have to admit, I was blown away pleasantly with use of Kutcher how spot - one is impersonation. He really nails inflexion voice jobs and ways to a tee.
In the clip, jobs (played by Ashton Kutcher) is raving about the operating system Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak (played by Josh Gad) created. While jobs, it is certain that this will become a ubiquitous product for mass consumption, Wozniak has to convince.
"Nobody wants to buy a computer," said Wozniak.
"How does anyone know what they want if they have never even seen? '' Responses of jobs.
So far so good, right?
Well well not so fast.
After the release of the clip above, Wozniak has sent an email to Gizmodo telling them that the clip is away from base, where he has never even occurred!

In a follow-up E-mail Woz said:
The film should be very popular, and I hope that it is entertaining. It can be very good, as well. It is a single clip. But you will see the direction they are oblique film, just by the style of this script dialog box.
I've never worn a tie at the time. I wore blue jeans and the same style blue button-up shirt every day of my life. I was not like a professional behaviour ever.

The fact that it did not is irrelevant. The important thing is that if the depicted direction is correct.
It is ok to compose a dramatic scene, but is much better if it is sort of arrived and had the sense described. But this is only a short excerpt from the film. The entire movie can be very good. But the initial exposure to the social meaning of a technological revolution has gone in a very different direction in the early days.
Woz goes on to say that, if the film was really trying to be authentic, it would present Woz at the Homebrew Computer Club "inspired by liberal humanist scholars of Berkeley and Stanford. The work, at the same time, would have been out of the picture at the beginning.
Not all that surprising to anyone who is familiar with the story of Apple, but then again, the film is called jobs and not Woz so spectacular creations are to be expected I guess.
WOX finally adds:
Indeed, Steve went down and came to the club and saw the interest, it did not propose a computer. Rather, he suggested that make us a map of PCB so that others could build my computer easier.
