Many people aren’t aware of the fact that they can apply for business credit cards, even if they are not a corporation or LLC. Why? Because any individual can be a small business as well. The business type is called a sole proprietorship. Perhaps you sell items on eBay, Craiglist, or Etsy. Maybe you do some graphic design, web design, freelancing and/or consulting. If you earned more than $600 from a single client, you probably got a 1099-MISC tax form and filled out a Schedule C. Boom! You have business income, you’re paying self-employment taxes (meaning you’re an employer), and you’re a sole proprietorship. This is the simplest business entity, but it is fully legit and recognized by the IRS. On a business credit card application, you should use your own legal name as the business name, and your Social Security Number as the Tax ID.

This card will require you to personally guarantee that you’ll pay them back what you charge on the card, which means they’ll check your personal credit score like any other consumer card. However, as the card is a business card, American Express won’t have it show up on your personal credit report, so it won’t change things like your credit limits, average account age, or credit utilization ratio.

Three big tips to start off your business

Small business online can take off faster than you might have imagined. With the right research so you’ve got a market niche, a plan that sets everything in motion and the right motivation to keep the ball rolling, you’ll be amazed at how lucrative and challenging an Internet based business can be.

You’ll find there are things totally different about being successful online and things that mirror more dated methods. For example, working on your brand is essential before you get too far into the process. Older print media says you should be able to define your brand in as little as three sentences, and if you can narrow it down further to a tag line for the web, even better.

Analytics

Be open minded to change and use the right tools to measure the analytics involved. Although social media has been criticized for not having an empirical way to measure the ROI, you can rely on what’s there like Google analytics to measure the visits to your website in a variety of different ways. You need to measure how well you’re doing with any of the possible combinations provided by Internet marketing and see how well the packages you put together work. Adjusting is a constant process.

Targeting

Sure, it’s the Internet, and even if only a small number of people in China bought something once from your company you’d be rich, but that probably won’t happen. You need to appeal to a specific market, in spite of the fact that you can reach anyone you want to, and that means understanding the niche market you’re in and pointing your marketing efforts in the right direction with relevant keywords. Not sure what keywords are best? Let social media help you to pinpoint these things down. The right searches on Twitter, for instance, will let you know the specific likes and dislikes of the folks you need to concern yourself with.

Execute constantly

Internet advertising is an interesting beast. You’ll receive more exposure than you might have dreamed possible, but at the same time you need to work at any campaign constantly to make it effective. Blogs and articles still work very well when they’re optimized, but they stop increasing your page rankings as soon as you take a break. Same goes with any social media or other techniques.

Remember that tone is important here. No matter which techniques you use, a friendly and conversational tone wins out every time over the hard sell. Value added information positions your company in that all important expert-in-the-field category.

Why are product reviews important for your Web business?

Online reviews have always been a hot item and provides great assistance to persons dealing with web business. Online reviews are always a perfect solution to the confusion with respect to reliability and authenticity of business on the web. Workers of friends, co often take the help of people and during cases of fewer resources people often expect that these resources. Tactics SEO link building are revealed in these reviews and have a huge impact on the business of the web of a person.

Prospects and, of course, buyers always decide to buy and thrive certain web businesses once they undergo a proper patch that has been placed online. The search engines results pages have demonstrated how Google uses the views of different customers to provide rankings for web companies. The list of local companies and rates of click through Web sites are always increased with the help of this customer reviews and as a result of that Google uses these reviews to provide rankings.

The relevance of the best search keyword is revealed by the help of the click through rates that people are looking for the most popular keywords. Sites that are highly relevant to the keywords are provided with high ranking considering the low relevant sites are provided with low ratings.

A web business is totally shocked and linked to online reviews. Even if a person does not prefer comments, you have to go for it. There are many websites where these reviews are published for example amazon.com and facebook.com even. People easily get linked to these sites so that they can go through the customer reviews and write a review themselves. The feedback from customers get thrown away by Google from many sources and has a huge impact on the entire web industry.

There are certain opinions of fake customers who are getting online every day. People should refrain from believing in these reviews. It becomes a problem for people detect the authenticity of the review. To obtain a proper review, must hope to trusted sites shared by Google.

The announcement of the tests online and false comments violates the terms and conditions of Google. You could even block the user to post any reviews. Consumer confidence is totally lost, once a person arrives to the web in real business. He would never be back to the particular company again.

Customer reviews are very important and it is even more important for web business companies to get critical acclaim to put on line. You must not exaggerate anything about your company. All must collectively write in points so people get a clear idea about it. The importance of these patches is increasing day by day as the technology is advancing. Today people go to query online before joining a web business. The rankings are very important, and Google provides them on the basis of certain customer reviews that are posted online.

Which Web Hosting service is right for your Business?

Let's say you've just finished designing and implementing a great website for your business and you can't wait to start generating web traffic and to buy targeted traffic to it in order to greatly increase the sales volume that makes your business.  Now that you have a great site ready to go, how to find someone to host on the Internet for you?  Well, there many options out there and many items to consider when deciding which type of web hosting is right for you and your business.  Let's go over some examples and go into a few details about why or why not a certain service may be right for you.

The first consideration that you should consider is how much you have to spend on web hosting services.  If you have a lot to spend, then you may need to worry about this aspect, but even if you don't have more money to spend on web hosting, there may still be an option for you.  Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may also offer an amount of personal space online for you to use as you think you are a subscriber to the Internet services.  Since you're already paying for Internet access, in this case, you don't have to pay for any additional services.  However, these services usually come with limitations and may not be suitable for hosting a business website through.  For example, the space you have available is likely to be small and limited and may not be suitable for hosting a commercial site with all that it entails.  The next limitation is usually that comes only with a simple domain URL, such as "www.myisp.com/mywebpage", for example.  And such a URL might not be appropriate for your commercial website.  Another thing to watch out for is server-side limitations from your ISP.  For example, you might want your website to use a scripting language to the desired functionality, but that language may not be supported by your ISP and you may be out of luck.  In addition, more often, ISPs restrict the amount of bandwidth you can use your free Web site, which can lead to potential clients, being able to access your website if you reach that amount of bandwidth.

Now then, with all of these limitations may be imposed by your ISP'S free web hosting offer, probably doesn't sound like a viable solution for hosting a business website on.  That is probably a correct assumption, however, there's an interesting aspect with this kind of hosting (and free hosting in General).  If you ask your ISP, probably have the ability to remove certain limitations, for a small fee, of course.  And if you only require that some of these restrictions be lifted in order to operate your business website, then you may be able to get those raised for a nominal fee and thus have very inexpensive hosting for your Web site business.  This same type of model and mentality usually accompanies most types of free web hosting services, so keep that in mind.

The next consideration is for those who are ready and willing to pay a decent price for their websites be professionally hosted.  When looking for a web hosting service of high quality, it is important to keep in mind a few things before making your final decision.  Business Web site is an important tool to increase growth and revenue, so you'll want to make sure it is available to as many people as possible as often as possible.  With that said, you want to investigate the stories of uptime of any potential service provider.  A service of high-quality web hosting should have very small amounts of time, and their percentages of uptime really should go over 99% of the time to adequately accommodate a commercial site.  Another thing to check is the level of customer service and support that the hosting service offers its clients.  If your website happen to go for whatever reason, you want to rest at ease knowing you can immediately contact your hosting service and can easily let them know of the outage and have them quickly and efficiently make the necessary corrections.  The next item to think is available disk space and bandwidth.  Some hosting services put limits on both of these, then surely we suggest that you check what are the limits and those limits are going to be compatible with your expected amount of data throughput and web traffic.

The next examples of web hosting opportunities are directed more to those who are technically savvy and comfortable maintaining and operating its own Internet server.  Both of these options have the potential to be very effective, but generally require more work on your part and a lot more knowledge to keep your website running smoothly.  The first of these options is to find a web hosting service.  This service offers basically a server in their data center, some electricity for power, a power cord and remote access to manage and configure.  With this form of hosting, you don't need to be responsible for the hardware side of web hosting, but everything else is pretty much up to you to get the right job.  The next type of hosting that is along those lines is to host your server on ISP with your registered domain name. This type of hosting is by far the most complicated and time-consuming, but having the benefits as it gives you 100% and an instant control of everything that has to do with your website hosting business.

Now that you've had a taste of what types of hosting options may be available to you, it is important that you review each of the options available in order to get the hosting service that is right for you and your business in order to generate the maximum amount of premium traffic and targeted visitors that lead to successful transactions online.

Internet advertising makes the business world Go Round

A successful business, no matter the size, depend on customers, urging his goods or services in order to be profitable.  A business without customers it's kind of like a car without an engine, not only can be workable.  Flood announcements almost every aspect of our lives these days.  If you turn on the radio and listen to any station, chances are that you don't have to listen to long before you hear a kind of advertising.  The same thing applies to other forms of media such as magazines and newspapers.  Usually there is no need to turn too many pages before you are greeted with an ad.  Commercials are common for every channel you watch.  The reason why advertising is so rampant in virtually every venue, is because it is by way of advertising that businesses and corporations to get noticed and almost every company out there is trying hard to get noticed and is vying for your attention and more importantly, for your business.

Advertising is growing, developing and evolving over the years and can come in many shapes and sizes.  Online advertising on the Internet is one of the most important avenues that your business may have to get new potential customers and generate targeted web traffic and increase website traffic.  Your company's Web site should not be just a bunch of stagnant bits and bytes that you hope people will visit a day if you are lucky enough to have displayed in the search results.  Business website should be a finely tuned machine that reaches the corners of the World Wide Web to convince new customers and new visitors to solicit goods and services which are located within.  This kind of effect and the far-reaching influence can only be achieved through a successful marketing campaign designed to greatly increase Web site traffic.  When you pay for an advertising campaign, it is as if you were to buy visitors and to buy targeted traffic for your website.  Advertising can be as simple or complex as you want it to be, but in order to implement a successful publicity initiative really, really you should seek the services of a professional advertising company to help you in your efforts.  A professional advertising agency knows the ins and outs of the industry and can work with you directly to set up a custom campaign that fits better, your business and your budget.

There are many forms of online advertising and all have different advantages and disadvantages.  Your company's advertising service can work with you to determine which types of advertising would be best suited for your particular business.  So let's go over some of the available forms of online marketing and advertising so you can get a better idea of what might be the options available.  One of the simplest forms of online advertising is the use of simple text ads.  These forms of advertising are displayed as blocks of Internet links, text-based.  These ad types do not contain images, charts or other forms of eye-candy.  They are typically sold and distributed on the web search not sites and can be served in a variety of ways.  Because of their simplicity, generally don't cost much to start with.  But without any kind of visual draw, often times you'll have to come up with some fancy text and text in order distinguish themselves from the crowd.

Another form of online advertising comes in the form of display ads.  Generally, any type of graphic designer who appeared on a Web site or web application is known as a display ad.  This form of advertising can come in many different sizes and shapes and can leave the door wide open for graphic advertising creative and convincing.  Some formats for viewing ads include banners, large boxes, "skyscrapers", leader boards and others.  Display ads are based on catchy, eye-popping visuals to be noticed and attract customers.  One of the challenges with a display ad is finding the right balance of design flair and useful information.  If you have too much talent then the point and the intent of the ad can get lost and smothered.  On the other hand, if the ad contains too much information viewers can't see as well, or will be less inclined to look over all the information that it presents and just scan over it.  But, if done right, this form of advertising can be a very successful website promotion and to attract quality traffic to your website.

Pop-up ads are another form of advertising that may be right for you and your business.  These are types of advertisements that appear to "pop up" in a new frame or window on the site that I use is currently visiting.  Other names for this form of advertisement are floating ads, hover ads, slide-in ads, etc.  And sometimes this type of advertising can be reversed, i.e., instead of popping up, the ad frame appears below, as it appears below or beneath the current web content being watched.  This type of advertising can be useful in making sure that visitors see advertisements for throwing it directly to them, however, in recent years the use of pop-up blockers has greatly increased which can prevent pop-up ads to be seen at all.

There are many other types and forms of online advertising that might be right for you and your company.  But the above formats will hopefully give you a better idea of what options are available and give you some basic knowledge to argue with your advertising service provider.  Advertising is essential for any business website and it is a great success for the promotion of your Web site and increase Web site traffic.  To create a profitable business, you need customers, and to create an account, you will need to advertise, so don't hesitate to start improving the initiative of advertising your business.

Building Your Business Is A Team Effort

Have an idea? Good, now write it down and turn your idea into a business. Easy enough, right? So many of us have “the best idea ever” or a way to improve someone else’s idea in a revolutionary way, but we never follow through. Which means all of those great ideas will never turn into businesses, (unless we tell them to someone else and that someone else pursues our dream). Where do those dreams and great ideas go? To the graveyard of un-pursued dreams?

Is your idea good enough? Heck, who knows? Only time will tell. So asking other people if they feel your business idea is good can be the wrong way of going about things. Especially if you’re just asking friends and family – people who may not understand the industry or have a clue about what you’re rambling on about. Or maybe you’re asking people who have heard the same ideas but from another person. So you may receive quite a generic answer or even feedback that seems discouraging.
You have the upper hand when you actually get the ball rolling. Actually letting the idea take shape, letting the idea form into something tangible. For this you will need the right people behind you, (or supporting and advising you), to help you bring your idea to fruition.

How do you find out about your future customers’ likes and dislikes? Well you have to first sell something to a customer. Of course without customers it would be impossible for you to become a business. But yet again, it all starts with the people you work with, the go-getters, the doers. Not the people who wait for things to happen.
I think about when I was applying for jobs in companies and I would see posts like, “must be good at ‘insert any fun activity that does not normally take place during working hours’” listed under the job description. To me this was a college graduate’s dream.

It seems companies are trying to appeal to younger people who are active and happy in their work place. Thus building a management team that’s young and lively. Maybe it works. Also I think it promotes a healthy work environment, which is a no-brainer, people will actually want to come to a fun work environment.
This is how you can construct your business, building a place for people who are willing to come and be part of your team. Is this the answer behind your business idea question? Maybe.
So asking random people if your idea is good or not may not be the best thing to do. But ask yourself, “do I have a good team of people surrounding me?” If not, then you even if your business idea is a winner, you may have trouble bringing your dream to life.

Does your small business Facebook and social media Twitter account

You are here: SEO blog > social media > need your small business Facebook and social media Twitter account

By Michael Gray on May 4, 2012.

It was 2012 and social media and social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are constantly referred to in media news and Entertainment Web sites and broadcast programmes. Print ads for everything from movies to the teeth are those ubiquitous little Facebook and Twitter logos, hashtags, and often special social media vanity URLs. The issue is not your business to be included in social media, it is worth the time, what is the benefit and ROI is there somewhere at the end of the tunnel?

In the current time in my opinion, there's no excuse for your company to not be included in social media. In 2011, SEOMoz is a study and showed the social media, helped with SEO efforts. In early 2012 search-engine land showed that employed 20% of all searches is a result of the icon of the author in it (see how to create a profile for author of Google for more information). With improved registration if you are not using social media as a tool to get rich fragment in the SERPs and your competition is, play of disadvantage.

If you are not using social media as a tool to get rich fragment in the SERPs and your competition is, play of disadvantage ...Smart markets are strong SEO and search engines are only one channel of the overall marketing strategy. You must use e-mail marketing, print, SEO, and social media combined to make your Web site to the algorithm updates. IMHO this verification of management and now is part of the algorithm of Google and if you did not participate in more than one type of marketing, Google will notice, or more correctly not noticing it and your Web site will suffer.

It is not simply a matter of having social profiles for all prominent and important social sites, it is involved, which also counts. Use social services such as KnowEm, to ensure their profiles to prevent any trademark problems. Test and try any of the platforms to see where are your customers, where you get the most engagement, where you get the most traffic, where you get the most links, and most importantly where you get the most sales. Once know who channel is the most effective interlink crosspost the rest of your profile on Twitter with FacebookIf this is what works for you. If Facebook can work better crosspost on Twitter. If Pinterest is what drives your traffic, then concentrate your efforts creating the most crazy great wedding advice, you can create. Since Steve Martin, says "is so good they do not ignore You".

If you happen to be in a very specialized niche, probably Facebook or Twitter is where you will find most of your audience. Google plus is a ghost town, unless you pursue Web 2.0 weenies (or Google officials … I went to there). If you receive traffic from other sites, social and want to allow cross post deal services as, if this then that try to automate the process and remove the manual grunt work. Automate your primary food and with a cross posting, as well as regular publications from Hootsuite and/or Bufferapp, you will be spending less than one hour day for publication of social media. Thanks to the services Tweriod you will have some idea when these ideal times, without having to be passed on to your desk to reach the audience well. Just remember, customer service is already interregnal part of social media, use it as a starting point for the discussion offline contact or from the public eye, whenever possible. It is not that you are hiding, is that there is no need to broadcast any part of the interaction of each customer.

In my opinion, as your links through social media channels, whether the links are nofollowed or not, create the corresponding user data, and the development of reliable author accounts are the three most areas have the most to gain from using social media and again and in my opinion are those three areas, must spend their time on.

Shoeboxed.com review – receipt and business card scanning, software for scanning

software: Michael GrayPrice: $ 9-$ 50Rating:

Here is a way Shoeboxed works: they send you two envelopes in the mail, put your receipts in the envelope and send them to Shoeboxed. A week or so late you receive e-mail. Now organized your scanned receipts and available online. They are organized/broken down by store, category purchase and credit card. You need a copy of the receipt? There are no problems. Just log in, search with the amount, and you can print a copy of the place.

Below is a review of Shoeboxed.com, receipt and business card scan, service scan.

receipt scanning service and business card scanning, service ... Online organized ... and is completely painless. To be honest keep receipts, accounts or any accounting work is pretty much something I hate. Cannot tell you how many times I will talk with an accountant, it will ask for some receipt will I have and I will have to go collection. I spoke with my friend Merrick of PRLeap earlier this year, and he mentioned he used to scan receipts and then organize receipts online service. I give it a try and liked the service and eventually I have to write this review.

One of the best thing about Shoeboxed is, is painless to use. I just put my receipts in the envelope every day and it in the mail at the end of the month. Also I have a rule in the Inbox folder, which forwards incoming receipts of secret e-mail address and it goes exactly in my account. Also I can use my iphone to take a picture of Bill and send it in. .. in a few seconds, my online receipts are organized.

They have several options for different plan. If only the will to use the iphone, is free. If you want to mail in receipts, it starts $ 9.95 and goes to 49.95 per month. More receipts must be sent higher costs. If you want physical copies again will need to be in the "classic" or $ 19.95 a month, (this is what I use).

Two of the other services they offer are business card scanning and scanning of documents. Include important documents and business cards in your envelope and they are scanned and in your account. This is all quite painless.

Although this is a great service are certain matters which must apply themselves. I contacted Shoeboxed and speak with Sonny Byrd, who was actually happy to answer the following questions:

I am sending you a lot of confidential information, such as full name, address, social security number, credit card numbers, etc. what kind of precautions you take to make sure that my information is not used inappropriately, or that I do not become a victim of identity theft.

This is actually quite accurate. Proceeds from the law cannot contain credit card numbers (other than the last four digits, which does not constitute a threat to confidentiality) or social security numbers. Receipts do not include addresses, other than that of the supplier. Bills, invoices, notices and statements may be with more detailed personal data and happiness we are fully equipped to protect users from data loss or theft. We use exactly the same SSL encryption practices such as online banks and providers of medical information. Also we are TrustE certified site. We protect your physical documents on paper very intense when they are in our possession. Our cutting-edge operations facility is held tightly under lock and key, including 24/7 video surveillance and security key-card access. All of our staff are rigorously trained and examined, including subject full criminal background. We are proud to is long becomes the data of our users secure and will continue to do so.

What are some tips you can give to people to make sure they are getting the most from the service?

Does Formal Education Matter When Opening A Business?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Entrepreneurship is taught in nearly every business program at university, but does your education or your college major really factor into success when going out on your own as an entrepreneur?

If so, what types of education are beneficial to entrepreneurial success and what types are worth a second look?

To best answer this question, we must look further into a few different situations and dig into some myths that many entrepreneurs have about their education in relation to their ability to succeed in business ownership.

I don’t think graduating from a particular college really factors into one’s ability to successfully start and operate a business.

Yes, in certain industries intelligence does matter, but you don’t have to be a Cambridge graduate to make money as your own boss. As a matter of fact, many entrepreneurs are too cerebral and end up thinking too much prior to taking any risk, which is a very bad habit.

On the flip side, I feel that there is an indirect correlation between the more rigorous college programs and the ability to be successful as a business owner.

The reason for the heightened odds of success is that entrepreneurship takes a ton of work and one must possess the ability to self teach. If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur and you think that education and studying ends with a diploma, having to write a resume is in your near future.

Above all, the most important thing I learned in college is how to sit down and study. Mentors can only do so much and my mentor, Harvey Cohen (may he rest in peace) died of pancreatic cancer two and a half years ago.

Therefore, I am reliant on studying and books and, regardless if you have a great mentor, you are going to need to implement study time after college graduation – a habit best learned while young.

Your college major does not matter all that much. Non-business majors may have some catch-up to do when first starting out, however, this is not too extensive as all businesses start small. Baby steps make learning on the job easier.

Regarding majoring in entrepreneurship or small business, I don’t think that any university can fully teach entrepreneurship in a few years, as it takes on the job learning as well as maturity before you can fully dive into the subject.

Regardless, I do recommend that all students take some business classes – especially an introduction to finance and accounting. Thinking statistically is crucial for growing one’s business and retaining an accountant is quite expensive.

I also recommend that students take creative writing classes, as while marketing remains visual, the search engines have also made fresh content of utter importance for anybody who wants to gain name recognition as well as be considered an expert in their respective field.

I think that any education is important and the more well-rounded an entrepreneur’s education is, the more likely they are going to learn how to sell and connect with people, which is another basis of entrepreneurial success. From knowing successful entrepreneurs as well as learning more about myself and my education, I’ve come to the conclusion that each major has its strengths and weaknesses and I would recommend diversifying and even taking extra classes while in school.

If you want to be an entrepreneur, the extra few points on your GPA doesn’t matter, so take the hard classes and get “B’s” rather than your lay-up classes. Hard work and adversity builds character and lays the foundation for your success owning your own business.

MBAs are helpful as they are a crash course in business after one gets a broad education. Nevertheless, MBAs give only a slight advantage to those who don’t have them. This is assuming that the entrepreneur makes sure that he or she learns as much possible.

If you are looking for something to pad your bio, an MBA is surely expensive padding. As I was writing this, I checked to see if I had my education on my bio and I left it off – simply didn’t cross my mind because the professional world isn’t too concerned with what college you went to.

Before you start studying for the required admission test(s), keep in mind that MBAs are very expensive and that money can be invested into your company. Also, all the study time cuts into time that you could be making money. Opportunity cost is something to consider.

If you are going to get an MBA, I suggest opening your business before you do so as you may learn that the money is not worth it. Then again, you may decide that getting an MBA for entrepreneurship is worth your time and the investment. Make sure you get a ton out of it.

My closing remarks on the topic are: never get an MBA just for business contacts because relying on contacts as an entrepreneur is not as lucrative as many think. Just because somebody went to the same college, does not mean they are writing you a check. Always remember that an MBA and entrepreneurial success are mutually exclusive.

You will never know how successful you can be as an entrepreneur until you jump in with both feet. The last thing that you want to do as an aspiring business owner is to postpone opening your business for further, formal education. Opening a business is education enough. As a matter of fact, it is by far the best education one can receive in regards to business.

If someone could legitimately teach people how to become millionaires by owning their own business over and over again, hordes of people would be signing up to enroll. With formal education, if you think that you can’t swim without an MBA or a particular major, you are wrong.

3 Reasons Why Potential Customers Will Walk Away From Your Online Business

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

Have you ever wondered why it is that some online businesses thrive and continue to do so, while others just fail miserably?

It is interesting to observe the differences between successful online businesses and those that, while they have a presence, just are not profitable at all!

Knowing the reason why these businesses are successful should ultimately allow others to also be successful, if they follow their lead.

While the keys to success can range from how well bloggers and online entrepreneurs manage to reach their target audiences, to the online technology they use to do so, and how they manage and expand their online presence, sometimes it is the very foundation of their business that is letting them down.

Customers Are Walking Away From Your Business!

The reality is that as the time-poor people we are today, we don’t like to have to think too much. If we want to spend our money, we don’t want to be solving puzzles. We just want to be certain that we are making the right decision to purchase from the person who is the expert in what we want to know about.

Having said that, it is amazing how many online entrepreneurs manage to confuse what should be such a simple message.

Having more than one skill and talent is indeed advantageous. Today’s Gen X and Gen Y recognize the benefits in being skilled in more than one industry, and more often than not, take the opportunity to train and up-skill in different areas out of necessity, opportunity or simply interest.

However, I find that this very fact can be detrimental to business success if you make the mistake of including all of your areas of expertise on your website, particularly if they are far-removed. It is never beneficial to be thought of as a jack-of-all-trades and master of none!

Solution: Segment Your Skills

Consider whether all of your skills and abilities need to be in the one place. If you are, for example, a gardening blogger, confusing your audience by highlighting all of your experience as a marriage celebrant or private investigator will not serve you well.

If your skill set areas are from totally different sides of the spectrum, then you would be far better off creating two different identities, and profiles, for yourself.

Have one website for your gardening business and blog, and a different website for your private investigator business and blog.

I would then suggest focusing on your relevant experience for each area on the corresponding website. Talk up your gardening experience and qualifications in the bio for your gardening website, and your private investigator experience and qualifications in your private investigator website.

I am not suggesting you hide your experience or background in the other fields, just don’t focus on it. It is probably not of any relevance to your chosen audience for each sector anyway.

People who make the first mistake tend to also make this one. How many times have you gone to someone’s website and noticed, for example, they are offering both online business products and toys for children and toddlers?

In this instance, it is so difficult to get a clear picture of the business, its expertise and what it actually specializes in, that more often than not, you choose not to do business with them and rather go with someone recognized for what they do.

Solution: Segment Your Products And Services

There is no problem if your products and services are somewhat related and identified as being related, but if not, then best to create a whole new business or website in which to offer these.

Keep in mind, though, that it can be difficult to juggle your time and energy between multiple businesses, so think carefully before pursuing a different stream of income. Even businesses that more or less operate by themselves still need a clear direction and some TLC occasionally.

You may have heard me, or another business identity, say this before: people want to do business with people.

Technology has made the impossible a reality, and we can now connect and do business across the globe, at any time of the day or night with the click of a button. However, technology has also removed the personal touch.

In generations gone by, our ancestors used to do business locally, with people they had formed relationships with. Now that this element has been removed, we are forced to spend money with people we neither know nor trust. And while times have changed, our preferences and human instinct has not.

Hence the rise of the term ‘relationship marketing’. We are being encouraged to build rapport and trust with our current and intended customer base by sending them newsletters, emails and blogging directly to them.

With this in mind, it is interesting nonetheless how many bloggers and online businesses still hide their personal identity behind a logo.

Solution: Expose Yourself

In the nicest way possible of course!

If you are going to build a relationship and rapport with your customer base, now is not the time to be shy about it.

Receiving newsletters from “the business group” does nothing for me. But receiving contact from “Jane – the business connector” is so much more personal.

Suddenly, I have an identity – someone I can relate to. She is a woman, like me. She may choose to share how she enjoys walks on the beach, going to the gym, chocolate ice-cream and connecting business people from around the world. We have something in common! Right there is the relationship building I was talking about.

With this in mind, share who you are – your photo, your interests. Give your customers the opportunity to know you, to like you. Then, they will feel comfortable spending their money with you.

By following these key tips for building an online presence that stands out and really says something to your audience, you have the chance to create a truly remarkable online business.

Jobless claims are as Mid-atlantic business activity Dips

Initial applications for unemployment benefits in the State held at 370,000 for the week that ended Saturday, said the Labour Department. This is slightly higher than analysts in a Reuters poll.

"We really do not show much momentum in the labour market at the time," says Sean Incremona, Economist at 4Cast in New York.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia said its index of business activity fell to minus 5.8 from positive 8.5 in April, without expectations of economists to catalyse the activity.

Any reading below zero indicates contraction in production of the region. The study covers factories in Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware.

Particulars of claims comes the heels of three consecutive months of delay of employment gains. Companies added 115,000 new jobs to their payrolls in April, fewest in six months.

Thursday claims report cover week for the study of the payrolls of May. The average four weeks of new applications, the measure of trends in the labour market fell marginally from April to may survey periods, which implies not much change in the conditions of the labour market.

"Data for claims offers some adapter wage, but only slightly, from April," says Michael Gapen, Economist at Barclays in New York.

A separate report on Thursday the private Conference Board showed, with a track gauge of future economic activity fell in April for the first time in seven months.

But other recent economic indicators are more thriving. Data on Wednesday showed groundbreaking for homes rebounded April and factory activity gained momentum.

Wal-March stores posted better than expected first-quarter profit on Thursday, as more people shopped in stores and spend more money.

Report from RealtyTrac showed Foreclosure activity of homes, decreased in April to the lowest level in almost five years.

Make sure that you monitor your use! Easy to send in envelope or two, or use Shoeboxed Mobile for several business trips, then let your paper clutter back in disorder. Only be careful with your usage and remember to keep the submissions coming in your Shoeboxed account. The Power In Thinking Small When Starting Your Business

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota

Many of us, as entrepreneurs, start off with big intentions to do big things. Although I love dreaming big and hear a lot about people thinking big, I find that there is power in thinking small when we are getting started as entrepreneurs or solo-preneurs.

Thinking small when you’re just getting started gives you permission to start where you are right now. Whenever you’re establishing any kind of goal, it’s important to make sure you start from where you presently are. Imagine planning a trip from Florida to Texas and putting your starting point in your GPS as Alabama. It just wouldn’t work.

In this article and video, I’m going to share with you nine ways you can start thinking small and end up with better, much faster results than you would by thinking big.

When we give ourselves small goals that we can reach regularly, we build confidence as entrepreneurs. Our confidence will have a big effect on the overall momentum we establish in our business.

Establish small bench marks that give you an indication that you are progressing toward your goals.

There might be someone or multiple people in your life who are interested in your life, such as a family member or significant other. When we are just getting started, it can be easy and very natural to share our goals with people we care about. But, later, we may realize that the path to the goal we shared was much longer and challenging than expected.

There is nothing wrong with this unless the people who you shared your goals with also share an opinion with you that shows lack of faith in your success. This can happen sometimes if we have tried multiple times to start businesses in the past and didn’t follow through.

If that is the case, just communicate that you expect moderate results and do your best to surprise them with exceptional results. It’s also okay not to share anything at all with anyone until you make your first dollar. I find that not sharing is the best way for some people to get started if they are surrounded by negative people.

Have a small narrow focus with your business activities instead of a big one: Many people add activities that aren’t necessarily responsible for generating revenue. The truth is, you only need to master the phase of your business that you’re in right now. Focusing on anything else can waste time. If you’re just getting started with your business, then just focus on your first steps towards generating revenue and nothing else.

Mastering one marketing process or one way to bring in business is more important than starting 100 customer-getting activities that never really bring you any benefits. Have you ever seen neglected Twitter accounts or Facebook business pages? They do more harm than good.

When we choose to master one marketing process, we can maximize our return from the resources we invest in by making that marketing process work. Starting small with your marketing process is a more effective approach for most entrepreneurs, because when we start small with a marketing process, we can take the time to master the parts that incrementally create a more profitable marketing channel.

Focusing on just one plan to make one sale is one of the most important things you can do when you are just getting started. The more you can narrow your focus on your first sale, the easier it will be to stay on task and not get distracted with anything but the actions that are going to get you to that first sale.

Many people think they should sell their products to anyone and everyone who could buy them. When you get smaller and more specific with who should buy from you, something amazing happens with your marketing. Your marketing material will be 100 times more effective because you can speak the exact needs and wants and concerns of those people.

Once you exhaust that niche there is no shame in starting a second business that services another niche, but we need to play in an industry that is possible for us to win.

When you bring your prospects down your marketing funnel, the fewer decisions you give them, the more likely they will be to make one. Also, the smaller you can make the commitments, the easier it is for them to take a step when you ask them to contact you.

Thinking small budgets forces us to get more creative and become smarter at our craft. It forces us to keep from wasting resources. Focusing on small budgets will help prevent misuse of finances and insure longevity through your first stages of business development.

It’s easy for many of us to try to throw money at problems we don’t know how to fix. When we force ourselves to figure it out, we become more successful because we understand the ins and outs of the foundation of our business.

I personally have met a lot of people that never start the business of their dreams because they think they don’t have the time or resources. It’s like somehow having a part time business isn’t cool.

These people many times will end up leaving their job before they should and put unneeded stress on themselves and their families. If you’re just getting started, give yourself permission to be part time. Just make sure that you block aside a specific amount of time that isn’t under 10 hours a week to work on your business.
